Gray-headed Chachalaca
Curassows, Guans, and Chachalacas is a family of Neotropical gamebirds
(Cracidae). Cracidaes are a primitive, ancestral family of gamebirds that was
discovered to live 50 million years ago, probably originating in Central Amer-
ica and southern North America when that area was mostly tropical. I man-
aged to photograph all 3 while in Costa Rica.
